What is a chickenORB?

A chickenORB is a must-have poultry lovers accessory. It's a spherical shaped rolling enclosure that allows your pet chicken to explore the environment beyond the chicken yard.

What’s their purpose?

The chickenORB allows pet chickens to roam a garden area, while restricting some unwanted behaviours.

A chicken, within a ChickenORB, can physically move the orb around an area, but its ability to jump, fly, dig, and run are restricted, allowing chicken owners to easily manage when, where and how they forage.

It is an accessory that allows easy integration of foraging chickens into urban gardens, acting as a barrier, limiting their access beyond garden edging.

It is NOT a replacement for a chicken coop or predator proof chickenyard.

Do chickenORBs protect the chickens from predators?

Chickens orbing should be supervised activity, chickenORBs are a barrier and is NOT predator proof.

Do I need to do chickenORB training?

Yes, imagine orbing is like learning to ride a bicycle, for chickens, it will take time and practice. surprisingly chickens often learn faster to orb that most people do to ride a bike.

All chicken learn from their experiences, so each chicken is different, and will need training time, a patient trainer and at times, gentle encouragement.

Some chickens are very intelligent and motivated often learning quickly, each chicken will be different.

We have found that the Isa Brown breed have the fastest learners, taking an average of 15 minutes to become efficient orbers.

Do the chickens get their body tangled in the ChickenORB?

Chickens do occasionally get tangled; you will need to be present to assist if required. Chickens are very resilient, and most will learn quickly from negative experiences, most often they will shake it off and keep on orbing, some will require assistance.

What' are the benefits of using a chickenORB? 

The opportunity to integrate chickens into you garden areas in a controlled manner is beneficial for your chickens and your garden.

Chickens in orbs, forage on common garden pests, fertilise and lightly aerate the earth.

Gardeners benefit by being able to direct these behaviours and return the chickens to their chickenyard with minimal fuss, chickens in orbs reduce the need for protective barriers around garden beds.

An additional benefit is that it slows the pace that chickens can move about the yard, this can be great for interactions between people and chickens, as it allows both chickens and people to understand each other’s body language.

Can a chicken drink while orbing?

A chicken can reach through our chickenORB enclosures to both drink and eat. A chicken will need a container in an easily accessible location while orbing.

Are all chickenORBs the same?

Not all chickensORB's are the same, in fact orbs that promote themselves as protective enclosure should be avoided as these often restrict a chickens ability to eat and drink. We are the inventors of the original chickenORB.

Do Chickens Dust Bath in and Orb?

The chickenORB limits the depth and length a chicken can dig while foraging. They are not able to dust bath while orbing, Chickens must be returned to dust bath.

Do chickenORBs Replace a Chicken House?

No, definitely not.

The chickenORB is only an accessory and does not replace a coop or a chicken run. Chickens should only be kept in the Chicken Orb for as long as they are comfortable. If they show any signs of destress, release them into the chickenyard.

Shipping Questions

How long does shipping take?

Shipping within Australia typically takes between 2 to 14 days, while international deliveries can take between 7 to 28 days. You will receive tracking information via email to monitor your order's progress.

What should I do if my product arrives damaged or faulty?

If you receive a faulty product, please return it within 30 days of purchase. We will inspect the product and, if deemed faulty, we will either replace it or issue a refund, including delivery charges if applicable.

Can I track my order?

Yes! Once your order is shipped, you will receive an email with tracking information so you can follow your parcel's journey using the Australia Post tracking tool.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we do ship internationally! Please be aware that delivery times may vary based on your location, and you will be notified of any shipping details via email.

What is your return policy?

If you change your mind about a product, you can return it within 30 days of purchase for a refund, provided the product and packaging are in original condition. Please note that delivery charges are non-refundable unless the item is faulty.

When can I order a chickenORB?

The ChickenORBs that you see, are not currently available but we have been working hard to develop new product which will likely, become available in 2025. If you would like to be notified when you can place an order, you will need to become a subscribe.

Returns Policy

REFUND POLICY

If you change your mind about a product you have purchased from us, you can return that product, at your own expense to us within 30 days of purchase and we will happily refund the original purchase price of that product provided the product and packaging is in its original condition and is re-saleable. We will not however refund delivery charges if the item is returned simply because it is unwanted.

RETURNING A PRODUCT

To return your product, you should mail your product to: Chicken Orb Returns, PO BOX 109, Kelmscott, Western Australia, 6991, Australia.

REFUND TIME

Your refund will be processed within 14 days of us receiving the returned goods.

FAULTY OR DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS

If you receive a faulty product from us (for online purchases a product is defective or damaged in transit on delivery to you,) return it to us within 30 days of purchase and we will inspect the product and if we agree that the product is faulty and unlikely to have occurred through abnormal use, we will, with your agreement, replace the product with an identical product. If we are unable to provide you with an identical product, we will, with your agreement, refund the purchase price (and delivery price, if any). If however, you return the product more than 30 days after purchase or you do not agree to the replacement or refund referred to immediately above, we will need to make a more thorough assessment of the nature of the fault before we can determine how to help you, be it replacement, repair or refund.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Returned items are your responsibility until they reach us, so make sure they're packed up properly and can't get damaged on the way.

As the parcel remains your responsibility until it arrives back with us, ensure that you get proof of postage in case you need to contact us about your return.

AUSTRALIAN CONSUMER LAW

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
